- breakfast - goodbye to friends - all going to same place - bus to bus station - mini bus to Kas - amazing views along the coast - lunch at bus station - read Kevin letter - read Andrew Holeran - Patty Griffin - sunset - arrive in Fethiye - cab to hotel - beat my friends here - they emailed me for direcions - met up with them - went for dinner at Captain's Pearl - lovely view of harbour - walk home and chatter for a while -

- breakfast with view - long time to get ready and decide - Amy, Tiffany, and I to go see ruins at the beach - booked activities for tomorrow
- drive out of town - stop to get map - take the long route through the hills - small towns and forest - turtle in the road - amazing mountain views
- arrive in Patara - city where St. Nicolas was born - lost a bit - empty hotel - not in season yet - arrive at gate to park - start at beach - water cold - sit on lounge chairs in our sweaters - order french fries - meet Indian couple - Amy swims - meet Sahan who asked for a ride - of course we said yes
- went to ruins - amphitheater - reconstucted hall - rebuilt to house delegates from international parlimentary forum - never happened - met English woman who lives nearby - main street with columns
- car ride home - gave Sahan money for bus ticket and he gave us bracelets he made and a gourd instrument - great sunset -
- home to meet friends - out to dinner - great restaurant - micro-aggressions - walk home by marina
- reading at home - learned about population exchange of 1923 which create ghost towns in Turkey and Greece
- booked tickets from Paris to London - called Christina - love getting excited to see more friends while hemmoraging money
- up early - picked up at hostel after breakfast - transported to restaurant near the beach - left our belonings - yelled at by owner - tired of people losing things and blaming him - E2,000 phone - who had a phone that expensive
- drive up a mountain - higher and higher - no guard rails - amazing views of mountains in the distance - friends getting more and more nervous - up 2000 meters, into the cloud line - our vanpool stood around with wide eyes as our guides for the morning started unpacking colorful bags of fabric - we were paired up with guides and harnessed in - one by one, paragliders were hoisted into the air where they filled and hovered above us - the we ran down the slope and off the mountain - long ride down - amazing views - comfortable in the seat - amazing views of the water and hills - tight spin - soft landing
- friends buy pictures - pick up stuff - walk to beach - rest - friends arrive - move to another part of the beach - sit and rest for the whole afternoon - tried to swim a bit but very cold water - beach to ourselves mostly in off season - kicked off of chairs - stayed until the sun got low
- went to a restaurant on the beach - ordered food and drinks and watched sunset - talked with Mark and Eddy from UK - bought us a bottle of Jagermeister - guy from Aydin Tattoo did card tricks for us - hotesl sales guy joined us - raised in USA - college basketball star now living back in Turkey - shot during post-Katrina riots
- Left and drove back to Fethiye - walked to restaurant on the water - couches in our own little tent - ate a fine meal - talked for a while and home again
